The Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi (NHBP) proudly announces that the Chief Mogugo Veterans Golf Outing is now the Chief Moguago Golf Against Domestic Violence. This year’s golf outing will take place Friday, May 29, at Binder Park Golf Course in Battle Creek, Michigan.
The beneficiaries for this year’s event address an urgent crisis: American Indian and Alaska Native women experience extremely high levels of violence, with nearly 84 percent experiencing violence in their lifetimes. The funds raised this year will support two vital organizations: the NHBP Tribal Court Victims Service Program, which works to provide traditional, culturally honoring care, practices and programs to promote the long-term healing of victims, and the Uniting Three Fires Against Violence, which supports all Michigan Tribes in promoting the social change necessary to address the disproportionate rates of violence impacting our communities.
